Bee the Change – Make Pollinators Great Again

To kick off National Pollinator Awareness week, the Three Lakes Natural-Cultural Resource Committee, the Three Lakes Center for the Arts, the Three Lakes Historical Society, Healing Nature Center, and Oneida County Land and Water Conservation Department, will co-host a presentation and movie highlighting the need for pollinator preservation. Heather Holm, author of “Pollinators of Native Plants” and “Bees: An Identification and Native Plant Forage Guide” will share some of her deep rooted knowledge on how we can strengthen our struggling native bee and butterfly populations. The movie “Hometown Habitat,” will feature inspiring stories of community commitment to conservation landscaping with an emphasis on planting native plants and pulling invasive plants.
