Celebrate National Pollinator Week
“The Return of the Monarch”

To celebrate National Pollinator Week, we will learn about the fascinating lifestyle of the monarch butterfly here in the Midwest and their astonishing migration to their overwintering site high in the Mexican Sierra Madre. To help support their population recovery, we’ll explore options for landscaping with Native Wildflowers and creating the perfect pollinator garden.

Morning Events:
Healing Nature Center,
7136 Military Road, Three Lakes

10 am Explore Native Wildflower beds and the Wildflower Labyrinth on the Healing Nature Trail
12 pm Native wildflower Sale

Evening Events:
Three Lakes Center for the Arts

6 pm Presentations:
“Creating the Perfect Pollinator Garden” by Baerbel Ehrig, Oneida County Land & Water Conservation Dept. and Healing Nature Center.
“Pilgrimage to the Mountain with 1,000,000 Monarchs” by Lety Seibel and Tamarack Song, from the healing Nature Center.

7:30 pm Movie
“The Guardians” (2018, 70 minutes) by Ben Crosbie & Tessa Moran: A visually dazzling meditation on the delicate balance between human and nature, “The Guardians” elegantly weaves the lives of the iconic monarch butterfly with the indigenous community in Mexico. Both depend on the same ancient forest for their survival and now face an uncertain future.
