Four years in the lives of John and Abigail Adams. John Adams, the brilliant, fiercely independent, always honest Yankee patriot, “the Colossus of Independence” as Jefferson called him, and the wise and valiant  Abigail Adams; outspoken and sharp-penned and whose passion for her husband and her support of the abolition of slavery and women’s rights and education, make her worthy of much belated, but well deserved recognition.

This original script, by Mr. Anderson, is intriguing, inventive and passionate. Burgess and Anderson honed this revision on the road and have a solid stage presence and jarring intensity as they blend history and humanity into a vital theatre piece. These riveting moments are a lesson for our time, a love story for all time and an experience to be shared and not soon forgotten. ‘It is a play not to be missed. Seldom does a play achieve this intimacy.
