Encompassing folk, indie & classic rock, 60s pop and rock n’ roll Rife with imagery and symbolism, Whispering Tree could be the “subtle call of natural forces mystically revealing profound truths.” For sure it is the Franco-American Duo, Eleanor Kleiner and Elie Brangbour, crafting rich folk-rock with evocative lyrics. Deli Magazine calls them “one of the most talented duos to take stage in NYC.”
They met in music school in London. Eleanor was the singer-songwriter seeking to collaborate with Elie, who had the reputation of being one of the institutions most gifted multi-instrumentalists. Notions of being a band diminished as they found freedom as a duo, re-imagining tunes as plaintive, harmony driven folk/rock songs, with influences of gypsy jazz and bluegrass and even 60’s protest songs.
Now with many years of national and international touring, awards and albums, they come to TLCFA to open our 2019 season!
